Conceptualize
Showcase the Product: We put users in the driver's seat of the new Volvo c30 for the MSN/Reveille-produced web series Mr. Robinson's Driving School. Our crack team of game design engineers integrated Flash animations, complex sound and video mergers in an embedded environment to create seamless fun.
Showcase the Personality: In the web series, Mr. Robinson (played by Craig Robinson of "The Office") teaches a range of wacky characters how to drive. We made the game a reinforcement of the storyline by introducing random visual and audio distractions to the driving course. Don't run into the Sasquatch and for goodness sake, make sure not to let Mr. Robinson's crazy statements get you off course!
Execute
No One Has Time to Wait: When a game experience is only a few minutes long, users shouldn't have to wait a few minutes for loading. Video files are big. To cut down the wait time, we divided the game into three distinct courses to help with the load time and created a mini-game to make the already short wait time pass by quickly.
Action-packed: Once players are in the game, we included little animation tricks that let the player "feel" the turns and stops. Immersion without weight was our assignment for this game.
