The Healing Arts (and Tech): Plexipixel has created content for big names in children's entertainment, including Nickelodeon and Disney. So when a leading healthcare organization wanted to make an interactive computer activity that would help terminally ill children express difficult feelings, we brought the concept to life through character-design, animation, user-interface design, and user-interaction development. The first of its kind, Mycomix interactive comic book offers kids tools for coding and a fun activity that helps kids express themselves.

Conceptualize

Play is Good Medicine: Plexipixel designed and developed the award-winning comic creator to allow terminally-ill children to create their own comic books while in the hospital. Using unique characters, items and environments, the MyComix comic creator helps children cope with their emotions and feelings in a creative and appealing fashion that's easier for kids to use and access.

Execute

Kid-friendly: Our comic creator was built to reward imagination, but to also be user-friendly for kids who just want to jump right in and tell a story. To accomplish this, we created several story templates. MyComix Creator runs in a kiosk environment that offers full printing, enabling children to print out their comic creations to also be enjoyed off-screen and show off their comic to others.
