Strategize
Smooth Operator: Microsoft hired Plexipixel to create a comprehensive demo that would showcase the integration and benefits of Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 and Microsoft Outlook 2007. Plexi had to find a way to combine three different beta versions of the demo into one easy-to-use product. That included eliminating garish animation, inconsistent messaging, and demos running on incompatible systems. Oh yeah, and it had to be done yesterday!
Conceptualize
Cooks in the Kitchen: Plexipixel needed to streamline the design and development process and make sure our assortment of ingredients fit together. This included using the same graphics and messaging throughout the demo, creating quick and informative animation and text, making navigation easy. We created a screen design that was simple to follow, updated the functionality of the players, and added a few animations of our own, giving the Microsoft Office online demo a consistent look and feel.
Execute
Strong Foundation: Instead of re-inventing the wheel, we worked with what we had, saving time and keeping cost low. Plexi went back to the original source files and worked with them to make the Office online demos into one cohesive unit. We created an overall style guide and shared library assets to make sure we were all on the same page. We updated the demos using Flash, and created some new Flash animation to tie everything together.
Clean Presentation: An engaging host walks through the scenario, accompanied by clear graphics and screenshots, on-screen narration built for localization, and simple user controls.
